Pets & Service Animals
PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED
Due to commercial kitchen regulations at our heritage manor location, pets cannot be accommodated at Heritage Santa sessions (except certified service animals).
Certified service animals (guide dogs, medical alert dogs, etc.) are always welcome as required by law.

LadyBird Animal Sanctuary hosts their own Pets with Santa events! Visit LadyBird Pictures with Father Christmas for their schedule.
Supporting Local Charities: A portion of proceeds from Heritage Santa benefits LadyBird Animal Sanctuary, Hamilton-Wentworth SPCA, and TEAD Therapeutic Riding Centre.
WHY NO PETS?
The Drummond Heritage Manor has a commercial kitchen that is actively used. Ontario Health and Safety regulations for commercial food facilities prohibit animals (except certified service animals) in areas where food is prepared, stored, or served.
Because our sessions take place in the same building as the commercial kitchen, and we serve apple cider and baked goods during sessions, we must comply with these regulations.
This is not our preference – we love pets! But it’s a legal requirement we must follow.
WHAT QUALIFIES AS A SERVICE ANIMAL?
Under Ontario law, TRUE service animals are:
✓ Certified/trained service dogs for people with disabilities
✓ Guide dogs for vision impairment
✓ Hearing dogs
✓ Medical alert dogs (diabetes, seizures, PTSD, etc.)
✓ Have proper documentation/certification
NOT service animals:
✗ Emotional support animals (not legally protected in Ontario)
✗ Pets in strollers/carriers
✗ “Therapy animals” without certification
✗ Animals with fake vests purchased online
WE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE TRUE CERTIFIED SERVICE ANIMALS.
